KATHMANDU: Matter relating to the implementation of Pancheshwar Multipurpose Development Project is likely to be one of the agendas of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s forthcoming state visit to India. With this, preparations have started for holding in-depth discussions on the issue. The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit India on Thursday.
The project has remained halted for the past 23 years due to various reasons. The PM’s India visit will focus more on early execution of pending projects. It may be noted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Nepal’s visit, one-and-half years ago, had pledged to give top priority to the implementation of the Pancheshwor Hydro Power Project.
